Monkey point
Monkey Point (also known as Manki Point) according to locals is the place where Lord Hanuman rest his foot while looking for a medicinal herb to cure Laxman, younger brother of Lord Rama in the Hindu epic “Ramayana”. Interesting isn’t it?
Located at a mere distance of 6 Kilometers from the Kasauli Resort by Piccadily, Taxis are allowed up to the Air Force base from where you need to walk up to the Monkey Point (1 km trek is going to be unforgettable!)
You would be surprised to learn that the top of the hill is shaped like a foot and the temple is said to be engraved with footmarks of the Lord. “Tapp’s Nose” was the name given to this unusual shape of the rock.
Being the highest point of the Kasauli, the Monkey point offers a bird’s eye view of the nearby cities of Chandigarh, Kalka, Panchkula and Sutlej River. On a clear day, visitors can also spot a snow-covered peak of ‘Choor Chandni’, the highest peak of the Lower Himalayan belt.
